The Color Purple

My mom and I went to hobby lobby this week where I bought this wreath for our front door. Isn’t it beautiful? The colors remind me of Emma!

People have asked me why purple/violet has turned into Emma’s color. When she was born we were given these beautiful donated crochet blankets and bows from @knittingandcrochetingforchrist .

Because of covid we couldn’t bring in a photographer to take pictures of her but there was a very kind nurse who did photography on the side and she went all the way home to grab her camera just so we could get photos of Emma during the little time we had with her (side note – I had the BEST nurses).

And of course in these beautiful photos Emma is wrapped in her donated purple blanket and wearing her purple bow. We will treasure those pictures forever! Ever since then, purple has been the color that reminds us of our special girl.

And since we can’t have Emma home with us, you bet I’m going to decorate our home in all the purple that reminds me of her! It makes me feel just a little bit closer to heaven during this season of grief.
